From The Studio: Still House Jewelry
Like each piece of jewelry from our in-house line, the Kasi Bracelet is made in our Brooklyn-based studio.
Before it can be shaped into the bracelet’s signature curve, a thin hollow silver tube is heated with a jewelry torch to make it more flexible — a process called annealing.
By curving it around a steel bracelet mandrel the tube is bent until it matches the shape of the master sample.
The tube’s extra material is sawed off, and both ends are filed down.
A tiny cast circle, one end of the clasp, is soldered to a chain that has been pulled through the tube.
The other side of the clasp is measured and cut, then soldered on the bracelet.
A pot of an acidic solution (known as a pickle) removes oxidation that occurred during soldering.
The piece is then polished, given a close inspection for flaws, and compared to the master sample. Every piece that passes this rigorous test is ready to be sold.
Thank you to everyone that chose this style, we hope you enjoy wearing it every day!
